Berlusconi’s behaviour came at the right time. While we have been suitably drunk on Obama-ism we took our eye off the fact that there is a dark underbelly of racism permeating the species and that western racism has always been characterised by a multi speared onslaught, from genocide to name calling. Remember, this isn't nationalism. This is the privilege of impunity that fascism always enjoyed. Idle or childish, this idiot chooses to trivialise the man at the highest seat of office in the world, but he will reap what he sows through fate because Barak Obama is too big a man to sink to his level. For us it is a reminder that the trials and tribulations that brought us to this stage in our social and political awareness have not been eradicated overnight, and now more than ever we must straighten up and quash with dignity the illegitimate nonsense that has plagued us for hundreds of years , wherever it rears its ugly head.
