Joe Bloggs letter last week proposed the theme that elvis gave voice to black artists. How ludicrous. The fact is that a domineering systematic aparthied legally prevented black artists from being exposed to mainstream white audience due to hateful exclusive rascism. The fact also remains that white people always found pleasure in the indulgence of African music. The fact that the conundrum as to how they'd get away with listening and enjoying without crediting brown faces was doubtless, like every other harboured facet/characteristic of african culture , a mere temporary concern .
Elvis was a tool used by the big wheel to solve the issue Eminem blatantly anounced to the world
"like elvis presly take black music, and use it to make myself wealthy". In Elvis's case, he became not only wealthy, but surely one of the most iconic figures of the last century alongside presidents, his descendants assured great wealth for generations to come.
While indeed Elvis allowed photos of himself to be taken with artists such as Fats Domino and BB King , do you really choose to subject the greatness of these pioneers to the grace of their student ? and because of a statement about them ? Wasn't Elvis also acreditted with telling a journalist that black people were only good for tying people's shoe laces ? Indeed, if you run through Elvis's movies , i cannot recall a single brown face among the hords of adoring girls, let alone a black co-star.
If he paid so much homage to the roots of the music, where were his black band players for forty years. This is the man who re-ignited the spititual anthem of the defeated pro-slavery south, "look away".
Remember that when you go accrediting (thes) the agents of the illumiate, and when the man puts his foot on your head, stop saying "tank yu sa"
