I was a vague fan of the spice girls, witnessing their careers. Funnily though, it was on the third day of channel hopping through daytime tv that I realised that the mediteranean panelist on Loose Women was none other than our very own ? Mel B. And that was only because the host referred to her. Call me troublesome but after seeing the increasingly blonder and bluer eyed Leonna Lewis on the front of this week's cosmopolitan magazine it's clear that the Dorothy Dandridge's or whitening of black artists is becoming tecnologically formidable; L'oreal's Beyonce a case in point. I'm left wondering , have we so readily turned our backs on the mantra 'Black is beautiful' ? Is it a redundant fossil never to uplift the spirits of a generation again.
